The class schedule for the 2012 APP conference is now confirmed. John Johnson will return as a speaker with the following schedule: June 18th, 1:45-3:15pm. "Initial Jewelry Size & Style." This is a class designed for piercing apprentices and piercers in their first years of piercing professionally. John will discuss the most accepted jewelry materials, styles, and sizes used in the current piercing industry. Only basic piercings will be discussed, with an emphasis on safe bead sizes, implant standard materials, length and diameters, and gauge. June 18th,
5:00-6:30pm. "Writing a business Plan." This is a class intended for
current or future studio owners and managers, as well as any other
industry employee wishing to better understand how intelligent business
planning influences their company's success. This class will have a
strong incentive on Budgeting, Business Management, Marketing, and the
Executive Summary. | June 19th, 5:45-7:45 pm. "Bedside Manner and Grounding." Piercers with any level of experience can often benefit from refreshing their bedside manner technique. Professional piercers can sometimes become so focused on their technical abilities and skill that they overlook the importance of giving their clients a positive experience. This class will offer both basic and advanced tips to help modern piercers build their reputations as great piercers. This class will be co-instructed by Joshua Bryant and Fakir Musifar. June 20th, 11:45am-12:45pm.
"Becoming an Instructor." John will facilitate this round table. The
topics will be how the APP's annual conference curriculum is determined
by the conference committee, how new classes are developed and
integrated, and what traits are needed to be a successful instructor.
The APP is always trying to improve the content of the conference and
this open forum is an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the
planning process and offer their input. |
